**Day 8 of Blogging this Year**

Hi Guys!

I hope you all had a GREAT week!  I’ll be honest…. I struggled a bit this week.  Getting up early has thrown me off but I am finally getting used to it.  This morning I got up without one single murmur.  I promise!  I wasn’t even sassy with my husband like I have been all week.  He’s been like…  “Day 2, time to get up and exercise with me”….  and I’ve been like….  “GO AWAY AND LET ME SLEEP!!”  By Day 4 I wasn’t as mean and this morning I woke up with smiles.  Seriously, I actually smiled at him in the workout room.  He was like…  “Who the heck are you and what have you done with my grumpy wife!”  LOL!!  Today’s walk on the treadmill was AWESOME!!  I walked for 40 minutes and actually ran 2 minutes straight…  3 TIMES!!!!  My foot doesn’t even hurt!  I think that stretching and warming up is the key.  I can’t wait to run a 5K in the Spring.  We are going to look for a mud one or a color run.  Might as well have fun with it, right?!

(I shared this pic on my Instagram @robynstamps and my 15 year old daughter told me it was too provocative!   LOL!)
LOOK!!!  This is how far I walked/ran today!  That is A LOT for me right now.  I remember when I was training for my marathon and would run 6 miles a day and 12-20 on Saturdays!!  How in the world did I EVER do that??!!
Bloomin’ Love Online Class is SHIPPED!!
I cannot believe I got so much accomplished today!  I unboxed my entire class, packaged them up, and got them over to the Post Office!  It took me ALL day but I finished it!  (All except those of you who just signed up for my class today.  Yours will be shipped as soon as it arrives.)
Since I didn’t know they were going to all go out today, I didn’t schedule a pick up for tomorrow.  With my husband’s help, we got these into the post office safe and sound.
SNEAK PEEK of my UPCOMING CLASS!
On Monday I will be posting preorders for my NEXT online class!  It’s probably my favorite one yet, even though I say that every time!  Don’t forget to check back because I am only doing one session for class number 2 of January.  Since I am doing so many classes this month, it is first come first serve.  I am so thankful that you all are keeping me so busy.  I absolutely LOVE what I do!!

Happy Thursday night everyone!

I know I’m a bit late with this project but I’ve had quite the busy day.  I started with 30 minutes in my exercise room this am and then off to play tennis for a little over an hour.  Day 4 of my healthy lifestyle journey is going well!  I’ve already had over 10,000 steps on my Fitbit!!  Woo hoo!

Okay, are you ready for a not-so-quick video?  I promise, I really tried to keep it short but it turned out to be a longer-than-normal video.  I hope you enjoy it still and forgive me.  🙂  You know I love you guys!

Chicken Update
I thought I would give you a little up date of my feathered friends.  They are actually doing really well for their first winter.  The temps have got down to zero and they have been busting out eggs still.  We are not using a light in the coop either.  I cannot wait until Spring when they can scratch around in the dirt like they love to do.

Have a wonderful night!  I will see you back here tomorrow!  I’ve blogged for 7 days straight now!  Woo hoo!!

Wonderful Wednesday!

By Robyn Cardon - January 7, 2016 - 37 Comments

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I just wanted to check in for a second.  I will have a new video for you all sometime tomorrow.  I’ve been busy packing up my class project kits.  All I need now is for our order to arrive and I can get these out in the mail to those of you who signed up for my Bloomin’ Love Online Card Class.

P.S.  I thought I would give you an update on my healthier me journey.  Today is Day 3 and it hasn’t been as bad as Day 2 was.  I did a little bit better on the treadmill as well.  I walked for  30 minutes and had 2 one minute running stretches. My goal is do run for 1 minute each day this week while I am walking and then add an a minute to the running stretch each week.  So, next week I will be at two minutes, etc. etc.  I would like to do a 5K in the Spring.  My Plantar acts up a bit but no more than usual.  It might be something I have to deal with forever but I can handle it.

Have a great night!

Hugs,
Robyn

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Sorry this is coming to you so late.  Day 2 of my getting healthy stuff is always the hardest.  I got out of bed at 5:30 am to put in my class orders, then worked out for 30 minutes, then sat in a vegetated state for the next few hours.  The second day is always like this for me because my body is not used to going to bed early and waking up WAY TOO EARLY!  (I’m rebelling a little bit today, too, but we won’t talk about that.)

Happy Monday Everyone!

My husband and I both decided that today would be the day that we start our journey to a healthier “us”.  I got out of bed at 6:30, mumbling the entire time!  For the past year my husband has been getting up with the kids and letting me sleep a little bit longer since I help with the kids at night.  I actually like getting up early but I just need to get in the habit again.

(These are my  unhappy feet that were forced out of their warm bed to walk on the treadmill for 20 mins!  Can you see their frown??)

Spiritual Thought Sunday and my crazy Saturday Night! (Day 3)

By Robyn Cardon - January 4, 2016 - 40 Comments

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope your day has been relaxing and uplifting.  In our church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we switch our start time each year.  Last year we started at 9:00 am and this year we get to start our meetings at 11:00 am where I live.  It is different in every meeting house.  My days seem a little bit shorter as we all sleep in just a bit longer. 🙂  I’m not complaining, though, as we had a surprise visit at the ER last night!

So….. here’s the story, if you are interested.  My 17 year old and I were about to run out and get a quick bite to eat at around 9:30 pm, since we were having a lazy day.

(Aren’t we so cute!?  She is going to be in college next year so I am trying to spend as much time with her as possible!)

Right as we were about to walk out the door, Brayden started crying and running to the bathroom.  As a mom you learn the different meanings for each cry.  Some you know aren’t real, some are not that serious, and some are REALLY BAD!  This was the latter.  This was the type of cry where you stop what you are doing, hop up and run after your child.  We don’t have those as often anymore but every once in a while we get a fun surprise.

I run into the bathroom and there is blood everywhere.  I am not good in that type of scenario, so it’s nice that Bryan was able to access the situation.  I think I might have even blacked out a little (but don’t tell anyone!).  Long story short was that he was going to need stitches.

We get to the after hours clinic and it was closed so we knew we had to take him to Provo to the ER.  We got there and were very blessed that he was able to be seen right away.  No waiting time at all!  ***BLESSING***

After they checked him in, the doctor arrived and got a closer look.  Turns out he was cut in 3 different spots.  2 on his ear (which I won’t go into detail because it really grosses me out but Karlee and my sister both wanted a picture!  EWWWWW!!) and then one on his head, which we weren’t aware of.  The ear took 8 stitches and the head was 3 but in a really tough spot.  I will need to take him to his doctor on Tuesday morning to make sure it is healing properly and not infected.  YIKES!!

What had happened was that his 13 year old brother was fake hitting him and Brayden pulled his head back really hard on the corner of our counter tops (which aren’t even that pointy!).  It hit SUPER hard!  We are lucky he didn’t have a concussion, too!

This was taken at the hospital before and during the procedure.  He was so brave and so strong.  They had to give him many, many, many numbing shots (which hurt the most!)  He was so cute and kept asking the nurses and doctor all sorts of questions.  His favorite part was watching the Disney Channel and when the doctor said he probably shouldn’t shower or bath for a week so his ear doesn’t risk getting wet!  LOL!!
I have to tell you some of the deep thoughts that I had while I was holding his hand in the hospital and watching him in pain.  I wondered how so many of you have to go through this all the time!  I thought of how many amazing people there are out there who sit by their child’s, parent’s, or friend’s bedsides day after day and help them get through really hard things.   My heart goes out to all of you!  May the Lord bless and watch over you daily.
Brayden wanted to go to church today and show all of his friends his stitches.  I guess it’s kind of like a badge of honor with little boys (and maybe even big boys!)  I walked him to his class and made sure that his teachers knew that he needed to be careful and not bump anything or anyone.  I was probably more nervous than anyone else!  The doctor said it was really close to the cartilage and we needed to be super careful.
Here is Brayden a couple of hours after church.  He was so good about making sure that he put the ice on it so it would help it heal better.  Then I came over and he was sound asleep.  We got home just before midnight so I’m sure he was exhausted!
Church today was FANTASTIC!  It was the oil I needed for my lamp.  I always feel so uplifted after I attend my classes.  In the 3rd hour we meet with just the ladies in our church.  It is called Relief Society.  Today our lesson was on accepting our imperfections.  Last week we talked about Grace and how we could not or ever will be perfect without our savior, Jesus Christ.  This week we talked about how many things we, as women, have going on in our lives.  Here are some of the items we listed on the board…
laundry and house work
kids’ homework
health problems
teenagers
little kids
being a taxi driver
dinner
bedtime
work
husbands
bills
deadlines
service
etc., etc.,
We need to make sure that we are doing something for US on a daily basis.  We need to make sure we have oxygen before giving it to our family.  We need oil in our lamps before we can let our lights shine for others to see.  I am grateful that I have crafting as an outlet for me.  I also think that playing tennis or exercising helps me be a better mom, wife, and friend.  When we are so focused on all the things we need to get done we start to feel overwhelmed and down on ourselves for what we didn’t get done!  We need to remember that we should “not run faster or labor more than we have strength…”  The Lord has made us who we are for a reason.  Some women ARE able to do it all, or so it may seem but we honestly won’t know unless we walk in their shoes.  I know that I do not have the strength and energy to do it all right now and I may never have that strength but I do know that I am who I am for a reason AND there is much I can do for my family and friends.
That’s my spiritual thought for the week!  I hope you will take something from it and use it in your lives.  Here it is in a nutshell….
DO SOMETHING FOR YOU!  Whether it is a walk, reading a book, making a craft, taking a bubble bath…..  Recharge your battery!  That’s an order!  🙂
Before I sign off for today I wanted to share what I look like when I have to check on my chickens in the middle of winter!  It is STINKIN’ FREEZING outside here!!  I bundle up and check on them about 3 times each and every day.  We do not have a light for them in the coop but they are still producing about 6-8 eggs a day, which is great!  Even though it is Sunday, I still need to check on my babies and make sure everything is okay.  Bryan snapped this pic today before dinner.  We still have tons of snow up where I live even though it hasn’t really snowed since Christmas.  It doesn’t melt here much when it is cold!  YIKES!  The good thing is that we can still drive in it here unlike in Oklahoma.  (My chicken coop is pictured behind me.)
Have a great Sunday everyone!  I hope you all know how grateful I am for YOU!!
Hugs,
Robyn
