“Got Done” List

So often I find myself writing a “to do” list of things that need to be done for the day or for the week. What happens with that is that I feel a sense of failure if I don’t finish what was on the list. What I’ve been thinking about for the last few weeks is making a “got done” list where I put on there everything I did for the day. Most of the time I veer from my “to do” list and do other productive things. I think it will help me see where my hours are going during the day and feel a sense of accomplishment. So here are a few things on my list today…..

*Fed Brayden
*Cleaned the guest bathroom, including the toilet AND mopping the floor/wiping the walls
*Brushed my teeth
*Folded one load of laundry and started another one
*Picked up the living room
*Got Thomas dressed for the day
*Read the Young Womens Motto two times

Wow, it’s only 8:30 am and I’ve already done so much!! I like this new “got done” list idea!!

Spread the love

Robyn – keep doing the “get done” list every day! One of our culture’s biggest faults is that we tend to focus too much on what ISN’T getting done, and not recognizing what IS being done. There’s a lot that gets done every day that nobody puts on their “to-do” lists that we need to give ourselves credit for getting done, too. Like helping the kids get to school, or eating breakfast, or going to the bathroom. Or blogging!

I love that thought… a “got done” list is so much more encouraging than looking at a “to do” list that I can’t seem to get everything accomplished on.

What a great idea. I think writing down the things I do in a day would make me feel like I’m accomplishing stuff during the day instead of feeling like I didn’t get done what I wanted. Thanks for the idea. I’m glad to see you blogging more. Take care of yourself.
