My family always comes to my house since I have only brothers. I do all of the cooking. Also my daughter and the grandchildren come over. I enjoy it because I never have to leave home for Christmas. Hope you and your family have a merry Christmas.

  2. Brooke Bumgardner says

My favorite tradition is getting up early Christmas morning to drink hot chocolate with my older daughter (she's 13 now) with nothing but the Christmas tree on. It's a nice, quiet time to enjoy the beauty of the season before the day gets crazy.

When my daughter was growing up, we would have a macaroni & cheese & ham dinner. Then pile her & the cousins in the car to go to church and then to the section of town known for the most Christmas lights & displays. Then back home for dessert & open 1 gift (which was always new pj's for pictures the next day.) Put out cookies & milk for Santa & off to bed. Next morning we let kids open socks then have a big brunch then on to presents. Now my daughter's family meets us at our mountain cabin sometime during the Christmas break. We play games & put together a new jigsaw puzzle.

  5. Shannon Morrison says

We always go to Christmas Eve church service and come back to our house for some desserts and invite family and friends to join us. On Christmas morning we each of get a small LEGO set and after breakfast we sit around the table and put together our legos. Even their spouses that never played with legos enjoy it too. Our adult kids love that they still get legos and have fun putting them together. Its a good memory for me as they loved playing with legos when they were kids. Also, on Christmas morning my hubby has chosen a specific song for each of our three kids (and the two older ones spouses) and he reads a letter to our children and tells them what each of their songs are and why he picked that one for them. He starts planning this weeks before Christmas as he has to find the right song that describes what that kid is going thru or has gone thru or something about their life the past year. Like when they got married or got a new job or just something that pertains to the years events of their life. They really get excited about hearing what songs Dad has chosen for them. My hubby is big into music so he loves doing this and our kids love finding out what song Dad has picked for them. He prints a copy and gives it to them and then they can read the lyrics to their song. We started this many years ago when our children were teenagers and really into music. We look forward to these traditions every year and I love that my hubby started the song tradition.

  8. Stacie W says

We love doing the chocolate advent calendars and before Christmas I like to play Christmas songs on the piano and try to get the kids to sing along.

  9. Bobbi says

On Christmas Eve we gather with family and have dinner. Afterwards we get a visit from a "special" visitor who brings presents to all the kids. Then on Christmas morning we open presents and have our favorite breakfast that everyone helps to make.

  10. Pat says

We start with going to church early then extended family comes over for dinner. This is Christmas Eve. Christmas Day we open gifts with our kids and grandkids and then make a big breakfast. In the afternoon we go to a cousins house for dinner and family fun. ????

  11. nickie says

Just started a new one this year for my 3 year old grandson. Made him his own tree to decorate, out of felt and made ornaments for him to decorate with. He decorates and changes things around over and over …. hopefully a new tradition for a few years to come. Happy Traditions All Lynda

Making Christmas cookies … traditional ones that everyone HAS to have, trying new recipes that become keepers so the list keeps growing, then exchange with a friend's family. We have quite the selection of goodies after many years of doing this. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win these great sets. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Happy Birthdays to the little Cardons!

my favorite tradition is making a gingerbread house. One year I went all out and made homemade gingerbread and a 2 story house. It was fabulous. too bad there wasn't pictures. that was way before kids. Now I have a tradition to make a gingerbread house with my granddaughter. she has been asking for weeks. Tomorrow we will use the Trader Joes kit and construct the house and let her decorate as she likes. It will be a great work of art – made by a 4 year old. Happy Holidays

  18. Sheila says

On Christmas Eve we get together with all of our extended family and eat buffet style, exchange and open gifts, and then all go together to the candlelight Christmas Eve service at our church. When we get home the girls get to open their gift of new pajamas and put them on – it helps make sure that they will not end up in raggedy old jammies for Christmas morning pics 🙂 Then they open their new ornament for the year and hang it on the tree – when they're older and have their own tree they'll have a good start on ornaments and lots of childhood memories. Each ornament they get represents something new that happened or they did that year – braces, zip line, archery, flute, etc..

  19. Donna says

one of our traditions – never put up our tree before my birthday. That was a good way for us to keep our children from rushing the season. I wanted to enjoy my birthday and have fun with our kids before all the Christmas celebrations.

  20. belinda trevino says

Our tradition in this Hispanic was to have tamales freshly made. Now though they are purchased , but the gathering is still the same followed by midnight mass.

  21. Barbara E. says

Wish we still had traditions, since the kids are grown and live in different states it is very hard to find a time all can get together. It is wonderful when your children are small, so enjoy them. Always keep Christ in Christmas

  22. Sheila says

Our favorite tradition is my girls and I baking and decorating a Happy Birthday Jesus cake together on Christmas Eve day – then on Christmas morning we start our day talking about the true meaning of Christmas and singing Happy Birthday to Jesus, blowing out the candles for Him, and eating birthday cake for breakfast – the only time of the year we get away with cake for breakfast. 🙂

  23. mea5798 says

You tube subscriber here! I can't wait for your next video – so much inspiration! Christmas in my family revolves around all my children and grandchildren gathering at my house to open presents Santa left there! It used to be my mom's house until we lost her last year. I am proud to carry on the tradition!

Thanks for a chance for a give away. When I was a child and then with our kids growing up, on Christmas Eve we open one present of New PJ's. That way the morning photo would look nice. Then later in the day we dress up for dinner. Have a Very Merry Chirstmas!

Our family goes out to the woods and pick out our tree and cut it down. Many years we have had a Charlie Brown tree but love it.

  32. Sarah Biswabic says

I subscribed to your you tube page. We have Christmas in July with my dad's side of the family and we play a game to get presents. It is so much fun! Merry Christmas!!

  33. Connie says

My husband and I had our first baby 3 weeks before Christmas she was 11 weeks early and they told us she would not live. She did live and now has 2 babies of her own. That Christmas my husband was out of work and we did not have insurance. Lots of medical bills but not much of anything else. My mother gave us a dozen red bulbs. My brother bought us a tree. We did not even have the little hooks that you use to hang the ornaments so we used the curling ribbon you put on packages and tied them on. We still tie those red ornaments on the tree first every year to remind us how blessed we have been. And my married daughters do it in their homes too

  34. Jean says

We have many traditions but now that each of my kids is married I am going to have to re think some of them. We always went as a family and hunted our tree and cut down a live one. There was the usual complaining, fights, etc. but we fondly remember those trips in the filed. Each year they get a dated ornament. Now that they each have their own homes, I have gifted them their set of ornaments. We continue the tradition of photos with Santa although now my husbnad dresses up for the part. They won't be seen in public doing this! Two years ago I gave the two couples matching pjs. I did it again last year. This year it is matching Christmas t shirts. Stockings always have lottery tickets – that is another one. I always love reading everyone's traditions.

  35. Alice Zimmer says

Well, this is the last year for a "normal" Christmas. My baby girl will be in college next year so we will have to create new traditions. Midnight Mass is one of our traditions that will always continue. I love sitting in church when the lights are turned down and the music is softly playing. It is a nice time to reflect on everything we have to be thankful for, so many blessings.

  36. Dena says

We always spend Christmas Eve with my side and Christmas morning with my hubbys Mom and step dad. Just a reminder to cherish your traditions and the loved ones you make them with. My dear father is very ill and hoping we will get to celebrate one more Christmas together as a complete family. God is good and we celebrated his 70th birthday on turkey day, but praying for another Christmas season.

thanks for your wonderful giveaways and videos.

  38. MaddyzMom says

For as long as I can remember, we've always had our family Christmas the Saturday before Christmas BUT this year, my daughter has a cheerleading competition in Hot Springs, AR SO we are trying to shuffle everything around. I love getting together with the family but seems the older we get, the more our kids have going on and it isn't as easy to all be in the same place at the same time. I would love to win this set and be able to use the 'deer' stamps for the men in my family!! ~Michelle M. (MaddyzMom36@yahoo.com)

Since all of our kids are grown and we have a brindle of grandkids, we go visit each one of them that are close by. That way they get to stay home and open their gifts and enjoy them and we make the rounds which takes all day. Eat with one of them, then we come home exhausted and take a Christmas nap. Makes it easier for everyone!

We have an old train depot here that has Cookies and Milk with Santa every December about two weeks before Christmas. I have took my two grandboys every year and made pictures with Santa since they were about 2 (they are 11 and 9 now). We look at the old trains and visit the displays they ha

ve (there are even family relatives pictures on display). They have a model train display with buildings from our towns past that they let the kids act as conductors of the trains, play raindeer bingo and train depot scavenger hunt. Loads of fun and I have photos that show the boys growing up while learning part of our town's history as well. Janlynn

Our tradition is that we all go out to dinner on Christmas Eve. Our kids have always opened one present after dinner when we get home. On Christmas morning the kids try to get up at the crack of dawn but, we usually make them wait till at least 7 o'clock to wake us up. Then we enjoy watching them open one present at a time. Throughout the whole month of December we talk about our Savior Jesus Christ so that our kids will continue to remember the real meaning behind the season. Thank you for the chance at a great drawing. I enjoy your blog very much.

  55. lindagk23 says

My two grand daughters come over, they are 9 & 11, and we make Gingerbread houses, then home made cookies and other goodies. Another night everyone comes over and we decorate the tree and have a special meal. We also do lots of crafting, we make ornaments every year with the girl's picture and I try to design something different every year. And we make something special for their other grandmother and great grandmother. They love that! This year will be extra special because my son-in-law's parents will be here from Colombia, we are super excited. And we usually open presents a little early because we all drive to Arkansas to see my family and my husband's family. That's a 1000 mile trip! But most of the time it is fun. 🙂 I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

  56. Natalie's Buff Buff says

We have dinner with my mother in law on Christmas Eve. Then my mom cooks breakfast Christmas morning and we all show up in our PJs for breakfast. Then after we eat, we are like a bunch of kids, we run to the tree to divide the gifts up by name, of course everyone has their own seats year after year. Then we ask my niece to open hers first, so we can get pictures, she is 11, 12 in February, then we all start tearing them up like the house is own fire. All we hear is, let me see, that is from us, do you think that will fit, oh I love that, oh, I bought that a long time back, it goes on & on. I'm sure those sounds are heard from house to house. Happy Holiday Robyn, glad you are back.

We have lots of traditions around our house. We go with my family and cut down our Christmas tree. We love doing this, it doesn't matter the weather. We pick a day and go, one year it was snowing and other years it is 60 degrees. You never know in the midwest what the weather will be. On Christmas Eve we go to church and then to my moms house. We get to celebrate Christmas with them but Christmas Eve is also my mom's birthday so it is extra special day for us.

  71. Evelyn says

As a family we celebrate Christmas, however we also celebrate 3 Kings Day on January 6. In Puerto Rico we would put hay in a shoebox under our beds for the camels, the 3 Kings would come and take the hay and leave a gift in return. Here in the US we put oats for the camels to eat it's hard to find hay if the ground is covered with snow. Feliz Navidad

Our Christmas traction is on Christmas Eve we go to Church for a special candle lite service. It's very moving and doesn't last long. I don't have either of those stamp sets so would love to win! When my daughter was little we used to use my mother's Fostoria (crystal dishes) and put out treats on Christmas Eve. Now for my granddaughter I like to buy her Christmas pjs, and a Christmas DVD for her to watch on Christmas Eve. I have an advent calendar I made when my daughter was little and I still put the ornaments on each day! I guess the neat thing is seeing which traditions we did when my daughter was little that she now continues with her daughter!

We have so many traditions, and it's hard to keep them up this year since this is the first year that The Teenager (15) is away at school- for most of December! This year, we made an Advent care package with little gifts for each day (today was candy canes, yesterday was room spray to make his dorm smell like pine). We also made his roomie an Advent calendar tree. Because my son is a Christmas addict, I'm also surprising him with a Winter Wonder-room when he gets home.

Subscribed to you on YouTube – can't believe I wasn't already! Thanks for the chance to win. I would *love* to use these on more Christmas projects.

Love the Cozy Christmas set. We always say it's good luck if you get a tree with a bird nest in it. Since we don't buy a real tree anymore we add our own.

  90. The Two Pink Ladies says

Actually, our tradition begins at Thanksgiving, but it relates to Christmas. While the guys are watching football on TV, all the ladies (and sometimes children) work on a Christmas project. In the past we have let the children place their handprints on a t-shirt forming a Christmas tree, have painted on wine classes, made a quilted table runner, glittered and initialed Christmas bulbs, etc. We have done this for about 20 years. It gives us a fellowship time to visit and create a project for Christmas.

Our Christmas tradition is to read the Christmas story from Luke before we open up presents. It helps us to center our thoughts on Christ right away.

I just love these stamps! Thanks for an opportunity to win them! On Xmas eve my granddaughters come bye and they put together our manager set. My oldest is going on 16 and the younger is just 2 so we love this event. They unwrap all the many pieces taking turns and of course everyone wants to get the baby Jesus!! Then we go to church and come home to a yummy feast. I always make reindeer food so this will be the youngest's first time so the other ones are going to help her put ot out! It creates a great memory!

Hi Robyn: You are so giving…..would love to win! Our Christmas tradition….Everyone brings a wrapped present then and set them in the middle of the room we give out numbers to each person that brought a gift, then we put all the numbers in a bowel, then pick a number and you go get a present, the next person to go, gets to pick a present or steal the other persons gift. I think the game is called pick or steal. Lots of fun cause we have a big family. Keep up the good work and many blessings to you and yours. Anna

One of my favorite family traditions is baking day. We make 100 coffee cakes (swedish tea rings). My 97 year old grandmother started this like 63 years ago. She made 2 for Christmas breakfast. She still makes the trip to my house (1 1/2 hours away) to help make these. We give these out to family and friends. People stop in all day to help or watch. It is great fun.

These are both beautiful sets! When our kids where little I relized on Christmas eve we have the Christmas Elf drops off a present on our front porch. It's always a game that everyone can play, be it a video game, board game that we all get together to play! Even as big kids now they still want to be home on Christmas eve so they don't miss the Christmas Elf! So adorable. PS we have a neighbor help us out and they sprinkle carrot bits and deer foot prints our the the yard.

Our favorite activity is spending Christmas with all the family. We usually gather at my Sister's house on Christmas eve and celebrate Christmas with everyone there. It's also a time to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us and now in Heaven with Jesus!

Choosing one is hard because we have a few, but here is one of my favorites. Christmas scavenger hunt for the most wanted gift. I have done it every year since my son was 4. He is now 20 and he still likes doing it! LOL My daughter who is 12 LOVES it too! The most difficult part is coming up with the rhyming clues (Thank god for Google & Pinterest). But we have fun running all over the house. 🙂 Thanks for the chance – Laura Woods

A new tradition in our household since our children are grown, is for my husband and I to watch the classic Christmas shows. We also enjoy attending the services our church provides that day.

Merry Christmas. Such cute sets. I love Christmas stamps. Our two kiddos are now out of the house so my husband and I are starting new traditions. Not sure one hundred percent what they will be yet. Fun trying new things. One tradition we used to have was on Christmas eve. we would open our gifts to each other. Before that we would have pizza, hot chocolate, and I always made a lamb cake and we would sing happy birthday to Jesus. After eating, my husband would read the story of Jesus birth (as they got older, he would include other passages of the Bible that pertained to that time) We would discuss it and pray, thanking Jesus for coming down to Earth, etc. Then we would open gifts. Our kids now: one is in a different state, and the other is newly married.

One of our favorite traditions is when we set up our Nativity scene we always remove Baby Jesus and then on Christmas morning the first thing done before gifts or stockings or anything is for the youngest present to place Baby Jesus in the manager and we sing Happy Birthday to Him and praise His Glory.
